Back in 2006 I did this challenging C2C Scottish ride. The company I'd been working for as a computer engineer had recently gone bust so I was looking for a new project while between jobs.
I based the route on an old article in a mountain biking magazine that I'd found in a Youth Hostel the year before. It was an epic 300 mile long mountainous route starting at the western most "mainland" point in Scotland which by my definition is now on the Isle of Skye, my twisted logic being that the new Skye road bridge had changed the Isle's status!
My daughter Holly (aged 1 year) and my wife Caroline came along as my support crew...
Full details and pictures of the ride as it panned out can be found on my old blog website here...
The route itself in forensic detail is here...
